Highly effective filter equipment - with economics and working environment in focus

To meet future demands on working environment, flexibility and productivity in the engineering industry, Absolent AB has developed effective filter equipment that is now sold all over the world.

Absolent filters offer a high degree of separation, long service intervals of up to several years, and can run continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week with a minimum of maintenance. The long life span of the filter enables customers to minimize production down time and other costs, such as filter replacement.

Personnel, machines and premises are purified of problematic oil smoke and oil mist. This is good both for the working environment and from a financial point of view.

During spring 2003 Outokumpu Stainless AB (former Avesta Sheffield) in Torshälla, Sweden installed a ODR 72000 filter unit for a rolling mill. The decision was made after evaluating the good results from another Absolent installation at a belt- grinder. Before
the belt-grinder filter was installed, the company had tried both bag-type filters and electrostatic filters for oil-smoke purification. High maintenance costs and poor cleaning capacity prompted the company to seek other solutions. A bag-type filter was installed on a belt-grinder, and the bag needed changing every three weeks, which was both costly and time-consuming.

Working with Absolent, Outokumpu Stainless conducted a meticulous analysis of the existing bag-filter, comparing it with Absolents ODR-type oilsmoke
filters. Outokumpu Stainless has now replaced the bag-type filter with the Absolent type ODR 20 000 filter. Since that date, the problems with poor separation
degree and high maintenance costs have disappeared!

In 1997 Outokumpu Stainless AB in Långshyttan, Sweden, installed a central filter type ODR 60000, which is ideal for cleaning the smoke produced in metal rolling. The filter unit has now been running for 8 years, without service or maintenance! Maintenance manager Håkan Morelius says he is extremely pleased with the results. Therefore, another 2 ODR 60000 were installed in the year 2000 at Långshyttan. These have now
been in operation for 5 years and are showing the same astonishing performance as the previous installation.
